Background information about self: Jeanmarie Bonifield has been teaching music to students for over 35 years. She began her career as an opera singer, switching to teaching to start a family. In Texas, Mrs. Bonifield taught private lessons to high school students for many years, taking classes to achieve a Masters in Education and completing many hours of higher education in Music Education. Jeanmarie has spent many years as a choir director both in churches and schools. During her teaching years at Walnut Glen Academy in Garland, Texas, an award winning magnet school, she was invited to bring her 80 member elementary choir to sing at the Texas Music Educators Association in San Antonio, Texas. She became a music specialist after training in Orff, Kodaly and Dalcroze and before relocating to Colorado, taught music education as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas. Teaching at St. Paul Catholic School allows Mrs. Bonifield to use many of her skills. From teaching sacred music, directing choirs, and teaching general music classes, to preparing for large programs, Masses and prayer services, Mrs. Bonifield truly enjoys the multi-faceted music teaching at St. Paul Catholic School.
